Kahibah Village Christmas Party

In December around 300 residents of Kahibah and visitors from further afield gathered on Sunday afternoon for the first Kahibah Christmas Party.   The party was held at St.Martin’s Kahibah, hosted by the Charlestown Anglican in partnership with the Kahibah Community/Business Alliance.

The pleasant weather made it a relaxed afternoon with visits by life-size puppets courtesy of John D Puppets, a local Fire and Rescue vehicle, Mr Slushi, as well as a generous afternoon tea and the ubiquitous Sausage Sizzle.  Special guests include Jodi Harrison Member for Charlestown, Pat Conroy, MP for Shortland and Newcastle Anglican Bishop Peter.  Keyboards Wizz, Robert Joyce kept spirits with familiar Christmas songs and a set of Christmas Carols provided by the GAPS Kinship Carer’s Choir.

“It was great afternoon and we were all delighted with the large turn up,” commented Tracey. “Several people came up to me and said how good it was to get to know their neighbours and hoped there would be more opportunities to build community in Kahibah.
